Install Fire Doors

1. All McFarland 60-, 90-minute fire doors have required intumescent seals (if any) built into the door. Therefore no additional seals are required (Exception:) When hung in a pair (positive pressure only) with a (lockset) strike and surface or flush bolts, either to steal flat bar astragal installed on the strike plate.
   
   
2. Pre-drill hinge screw holes for a 2", #12 screw, and install hinges with 2" screws.
   
   
3. Pre-drill all lock mounting screws as follows and install locks:
                 Mortise locks           2- 2" x #12 sheet metal screws
                 Cylindrical locks       2- 1.5" x #8 sheet metal screws
   
   
   
4. When installed in a Pair (positive pressure only), a metal dust box for 4 7/8" strike will be supplied and must be installed. Pre-drill and install 1 each #8 x 1.5" sheet metal screw through back of box.
